SOMA is an experimental interactive installation developed in collaboration with FinalSpark that explores new forms of biological computing through tactile human interaction with living brain organoids. Visitors interact with a soft artificial membrane that translates touch into electrical impulses transmitted to lab-grown neuron clusters. The organoids respond through visible movements within the same tactile interface, creating a direct feedback loop between human input and living biological systems.Combining neuroscience, creative technology and physical interaction design, the project investigates how emerging organic computing systems might challenge conventional silicon-based technologies. By transforming a highly complex scientific process into an intuitive and sensory experience, SOMA makes experimental research in biological intelligence tangible and accessible to the public.
